Doing it for Charity

Staff, patients and sports heroes are baring their flesh and starring in the ‘Riveredge 2009 Wearing Nothing But A Smile’ calendar. The calendar, which will be sold to raise funds for three cancer charities, will feature the Riveredge team, Rugby League legend Paul Sculthorpe and nine Riveredge patients.

The team decided they wanted to support the charities after losing team member, Amanda Fisher, to bowel cancer three years ago. Lesley Collard, Practice Manager, commented, “We were keen to do something a bit different to support St Oswald's, the hospice that looked after Amanda so well. We were all pretty nervous about doing the calendar, but it was great fun and for a great cause.”

The calendar will go on sale to the general public next week, when it can be purchased from Riveredge (Sunderland and Jesmond), Serenity in the City (Jesmond) and Hunter & Dublin Hair Salon (Consett).
